ABOUT
ME!
Emily Freilicher is a commercial voiceover actress, theater director, performer, and private voice and acting coach based in New York City. She is currently a Guest Faculty member at Sarah Lawrence College, where she teaches Voice in the Music Department to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Since 2019, Emily has served as Chair of the Performing Arts Department at The Birch Wathen Lenox School in New York City, where she oversees both the music and theater programs. She teaches courses in Theatre, Acting, Audition Skills, and Directing, and directs up to five major productions each year. Many of her students have gone on to pursue advanced training at institutions such as NYU, Syracuse University, Emerson College, Wagner College, and the University of Michigan.

Beyond the classroom, Emily has maintained a private voice and acting studio in Manhattan since 2008, working with a diverse roster of clients ranging from Broadway professionals to students preparing for college auditions to beginners of all ages. She brings a comprehensive understanding of both classical and musical theatre vocal technique to a wide variety of genres, including pop, rock, folk, and traditional and contemporary musical theatre. In her acting coaching, Emily takes a personalized approach, often drawing from techniques such as Meisner, Strasberg, and Practical Aesthetics to meet the needs of each individual performer.

Her voiceover work can be heard in national television, radio, and online campaigns for brands including Amazon, Pepsi, NJ Lottery, Lucky Charms, and Petflow, among others. Before focusing on voiceovers, Emily's work centered around the theater where she was both a performer and director with The Lark Theatre Company, Westchester Sandbox Theater, and We've Got Class troupe. She has directed more than 20 full-scale musicals and plays, along with numerous cabarets and showcases in both professional and educational settings. Her work has been presented at venues such as Studio 54, 13th Street Repertory, and Don’t Tell Mama.

Emily holds an M.M. in Vocal Performance (Musical Theatre) from New York University and a B.A. from Emory University.
